IS ONE OF 300 WINNERS IN A PRESTIGIOUS
GLOBAL COMPETITION

Renate Pfleiderer, a Sag Harbor resident, is a highly successful and much sought after photographer on the East End of Long Island. While she has multi-faceted track record as an experienced photographer both in Europe and the United States she now specializes in very glamorous fine portraiture and wedding photography. Because of her great talent recording important moments of love she has been chosen as a General Winner in the M.I.L.K. International Competition in the category of photos depicting LOVE.
M.I.L.K., which stands for Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship, conceived the global photo competition whose themes are Friendship, Family and Love. The organizers selected the 300 candidates from a group of 17,000 professional and amateur photographers in 192 countries.
Elliott Erwitt, a noted Magnum photographer, and chief judge for the competition, had to pick from over 40,000 images submitted. According to Mr. Erwitt:" they `ve got to be good pictures, they´ve got to tell you something you haven`t seen, or touch you in some way emotionally."
Renate`s image is one of her whimsical wedding photographs.
The winning images from the M.I.L.K. Competition  will be showcased in a planned month-long exhibition in Vanderbilt  Hall at Grand Central Terminal in New York City
in July 12.  - August 16. 2001  7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ,and will be featured in several books. Renate's image is in the "LOVE" book.

M.I.L.K.   Beware...this show is not for the timid! The photographs communicate a wide scope of emotions. Some images will bring a tear to your eye, others a spontaneous burst into laughter. These talented photographers from all around the globe depict honest relationships shared by every language. It is Humanity at its best! A must see!
The three coffee table books representing all the work in the show are exquisitely designed and printed.
